A licence is required for each location where payday loans are offered, arranged, or provided to consumers in New Brunswick. As of January 1st 2018 , no payday lender may offer, arrange, or provide payday loans to residents of NB without being licensed.
The internet has made it easier than ever to purchase goods and services from the comfort our homes, including access to payday loans. Online payday lenders must also be licensed and follow the same rules as payday lenders with store front locations.
Before choosing a payday lender, be sure that you are working with a business that is properly licensed. You can also check if a business has had their licence suspended or cancelled, or if their application was refused. Contact FCNB to check the licence status of a payday lender.
